Self-confident and prominent the new office and hotel complex by Cyrus Moser Architects on Europa-Allee in Frankfurt is visible far and wide as the identity-promoting highlight of the new Europaviertel city quarter. The whole quarter is to be developed by 2019 into an urban location near the city centre with residential, commercial, cultural, exhibition, shopping and park facilities.
The 110-metre high tower with office use in the upper part and a hotel in the lower area, stands separated by a gap on a solid base holding the foyer and entrance area, as well as conference and multi-use rooms. Its sturdy and at the same time hollowed out base forms the new strategic south access to the exhibition ground.
The plain, compact silhouette of the tower is broken up by two fine recesses. With the resulting slight staggering on the building edge the structure is given a small movement and a characteristic face towards the exhibition centre without the design appearing to push itself forward too much. The construction is connected harmoniously with its environment via the 25 x 25 metre large forecourt. Construction is due to commence in mid-2018, opening is scheduled for 2020.
